Webinar: Developing Student Skills in Oral History

Online Webinar
Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 |  3:30 – 4:10pm PST

How can storytelling and listening transform a classroom?

In the first installation of the Listen Up webinar series, the VOW education team offers practical tools to help you kickstart powerful oral history projects with your students.

This free webinar covers “the basics of teaching oral history basics” and provides a scaffolded approach to helping your students conduct their own oral histories in the classroom and out in their communities.

We also discuss ways to connect these skills with Common Core goals. The webinar concludes with a participant Q&A session.

This webinar is part of the Listen Up webinar series offered through the Voice of Witness Education Program. Listen Up brings together classroom and community educators from around the world to share resources for teaching oral history and stimulate dialogue around oral history ethics and practices in educational settings.
