Project Description

The curriculum for High Rise Stories guides students in exploring the contemporary issues embedded in the stories from Chicago public housing residents.

The first four lessons challenge students to explore contemporary social justice and equity issues through written analysis and reflection, a Socratic seminar, a Town Hall Circle, creative exploration, and small-group activities. We’ve incorporated literature, film, art, and writing, with the goal of creating multiple points of entry that connects with students’ various interests and skill sets.
