We are pleased to announce that three of our most popular backlist titles—Underground America: Narratives of Undocumented Lives, Surviving Justice: America’s Wrongfully Convicted and Exonerated, and Inside This Place, Not of It: Narratives from Women’s Prisons—are now available for purchase.
The books can be purchased individually, or as bulk orders.
Due to overwhelming demand from universities and book stores, educators and general readers alike have recently been having a hard time getting their hands on these titles. Underground America has been a favorite among teachers working with students from immigrant families, and Surviving Justice and Inside This Place have been popular resources for educators and advocates who want to work with first-person stories about the U.S. criminal justice system.
The reprints hit the shelves as Voice of Witness moves forward with a fledgling publishing partnership with Verso Books, which has a stellar reputation and over 40 years of experience in the field of socially and politically relevant publishing.
We are excited to be releasing these reprints together and look forward to our first joint publications: Lavil: Life, Love, and Death in Port-au-Prince and Chasing the Harvest: Migrant Workers in California Agriculture. Both are scheduled for publication in 2017.
